Cyborg 004 (Albert Heinrich) a German native. His story begins when He and his
fiancée Hilda attempted to escape from the communist East in the guise of
circus members; (at the time the concept for the series--and thus 004--was
originally created, Germany was still divided by the Berlin Wall) Albert
driving a truck with an animal cage; Hilda dressed up in a lioness costume and
stayed in the cage with an actual lion. However, because Albert forgot to
retrieve his forged identification from a guard, he panicked and sped off. The
border guards opened fire on the truck, injuring Albert and killing Hilda in
the process. Black Ghost agents arrived on the scene and lied that they would
take Albert to a hospital taking his barely-alive body with them.
Dr. Gilmore was then tasked to replace his mangled body with as many mechanical
parts (preferably weapons) as possible. Missile launchers were incorporated
into his legs, his eyes were replaced by target sensors, his right fingers
became a set of machine guns, and a laser cutter was installed in his left
hand; He also have a miniature bomb in his chest. He literally became a
walking arsenal.
Unfortunately, 004's personality created problems as he became distraught
stricken with despair and developed suicidal tendencies, worsened by the side
effects of his modifications which caused him additional physical pain and
strain. This ultimately forced Black Ghost to halt the cyborg program for
decades, and put the existing cyborgs in suspended animation until technology
developed far enough to make future cyborg soldiers more stable. By the time
004 was re-awakened, he had many more cyborg brethren, and the camaraderie and
united mission to defeat Black Ghost helped to stabilize his personality. He
is very well equipped with military information and is perfect at thinking of
plans.
He now acepts what live gives him in a very complex way, he hates fights and stress,
laziness and chaos bothers him, he's kind and knows when to back off, he makes
sacrifice for his friends. He's a man of many talents but never bothers to
explore them; he whinnes and complains a lot. He's a very jealous but loyal
person and tends to be fussy, overcritical, harsh, perfectionist, conservative
and a worrier. He always thinks he is doing the right and appropriate thing,
and often he thinks he makes no mistake.
Albert is a bright guy and could accept comments if he thinks it can improve him. He
is the type who well adjusted to make changes. He is quite romantic; a type of
guy who can drive 100 miles just to tell his lady how much he misses her. He
always neat and tidy all the times, even when he is in battle, he will be the
cleanest soldier in the field.
He likes to speak properly with no slang. He hates laziness and lazy people. He
always acts like a boring mature adult, but getting to know him, you will know
he has his own charm. He always sees things clearly, so he is not the type to
be blinded by love. He is a kind and cool guy, but if constantly irritate with
rudeness, ignorant, or stupidity then he will show you that he is annoyed.
Of all
of the 00-Cyborgs, Albert is the one who has had the most cybernetic
modification. 004 often has a gruff exterior which belies his friendly
personality and disgust with war. He had to fight a robotic version of himself
in a castle. He was losing until the robot predicts that he will jump in a
certain direction to save himself, but he then jumps in a different direction
to save some birds caught up in their battle. The confusion of the robot
underscores 004's humanity. He was the last of the 00 Cyborgs who were frozen
until more advanced technology and procedures were made and is the
chronologically oldest of the group, being already 30 years old when captured.
He also developed a bond with Princess Biina of the Yomi kingdom as well a
closer one with companion cyborg Jet Link.
